    2011 Shadmaster Classic

As we entered Shadmaster arena in Oregon City which lies below the Oregon City dam the anticipation of who could win the 10th annual tournament mounts on high hopes of cold beer and lots of laughs.

oregon city ramp getting ready                                          were off
The rules were simple the one with the most wins. We had from 8am to 1pm to make Shadmaster champion. As the whistle blew the race was on after 4 and half hours of fish time the dream team caught a staggering 48 shad while only loosing a dozen. Needless to say we took the 10th annual shad master classic by storm, with a catch of 22 shad caught by one man to win the status of "Shad Master". Dream Team also took 1st and 2nd in the team competion making the over all win a life time achievement well done Larry,Mike and Jay. Thanks again to all who participated.

Fishing with Looney Lures and Wraptor Rods.

As I drove to Washougal Washington to meet up with Larry Larue, owner of Looney Lures, I had no idea what to expect.  I got to the ramp a little early thinking I would wait for Larry, but when I pulled in I saw his truck in the lot and assumed he was at the dock; but Larry wasn't there.  He had put the boat in the night before, stayed the night on his boat and then came driving to the dock to pick up me and his friend Bob. Talk about going the extra mile to take a guy fishing.  I felt pretty exceptional, as I have become friends with Larry, I have learned of his graciousness and awareness of friendship.  I told him he didn't have to do all this for me and he replied "I wanted to make sure I get you a fish after the slaughter you took me on in the ocean this year".  I laughed and didn't think much about it, until these happened.

Needless to say, it was a great day.  We were using Wraptor xsa108 15 to 30, xsh96 15 to 30 and a rr1022m 10 to 25 and are pictured above.  We were also using Looney blues with purple and chartruece.  It really was a great combination.  Thanks Larry.  Can't wait to do it again.

Here are the winners of the Coos Bay tuna classic, Team King Fisher, as you can see they have done very well. As I get to know Mike Domeyer, I'm impressed with his good natured thought for a new tuna rod in the North West.  Wraptor will do whatever it can to help with this.  Mike has been working with Lamiglas and Wraptor to build a North West tuna rod that will be a winner for us all.  I have built several of the new rods and can't wait to see their new pictures for the photo contest. I will get the pictures of these  rods on here as soon as possible. Thanks to Domeyer and team King Fisher, great job. If you have any questions for Mike Domeyer about this new live bait rod call him at 503 799 1341 and he will be happy to talk to you about the new rod.
